Be faithful with what you have. If you’re faithful with the little that you’re given you’ll be a ruler over much.
Why is it that when God gives us something to be faithful with;
whether it be our job, our faith in Jesus and sharing the gospel, in raising up our children, in our marriage, in our gifts, in living in complete honesty and transparency,
That we have a tendency to hide it and live fearfully with it. That we live in a way that no one even knows you have a walk with Jesus by your conduct and speech, or by not investing into raising our children and teaching them about the things of the Lord and teaching them education etc. How about your career? Being a faithful and deadicated worker, dependable.
How about your marriage? We are suppose to be faithful with what we are given. Marriage is more then just being “faithful”, it’s also laying your life down for the other person, eagerly waiting to be of service to eachother with a joyful heart. It’s putting in effort everyday, having those hard conversations, being committed no matter the circumstances, being truly transparent with each other. Transparency means we don’t have to be asked. People can be honest with their answers but living in transparency means nothing is hidden. It means you bring forth it all. All cards on the table. Maybe it’s your gifts. Have you been faithful in the gifts God has given you? Has God given you the gift of teaching and you’re just sitting on your gift squandering it?
Has God given you the gift of hospitality but you’re making excuses as to why you’re not inviting people over and loving on them the way Jesus loves? How about the gift of exhortation? Encouraging others. So many people need encouragement. You yourself probably need to be encouraged, however sometimes the best way for our needs to be met is by meeting others needs.
Whatever God has given you to be faithful in, don’t squander it because you are afraid or you have excuses. Be faithful because God is waiting to give you more then you can imagine you just have to prove to him you won’t waste it.
If my child earns $1 but then loses it will I give him a $100 to save? Absolutely not. I may give him some loose change next time. But if he faithfully puts it in his little bank and does what’s expected of him then I can trust him with a $5. Then a $10 and so on!
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his Lord’s money. After a long time the Lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His Lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.’ He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ His Lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.’ “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’ “But his Lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
